Tracce di Tartufo
One of the tasks included in the PisaUnicaTerra assignment by the Province of Pisa was to restyle existing events. The Rassegna Internazionale del Tarufo Bianco Sanminiatese (International Conference about The White San Miniato Truffle) was the most important event in Italy about truffle culture, together with La Borsa Del Tartufo in Alba and in Florence.
Until 2008 it was just a conference followed by a dinner on invitations, something completely self referred and basically useless (food was great though!). The 2008 edition was called Tracce di Tartufo (Truffle Tracks) and I located it in Pisa’s International Airport Galileo Galilei, in the Vista Lounge, where I installed a semicircular back projection screen 12 meters wide per 3 meters high. A small audience (journalists, operators, politicians, VIPs) sitting in the semi circle attended to a multi sensory experience (Sensorama), lead by a famous Italian national TV conductor, Bruno Gambarotta, together with the students of Pisa’s Hotel School G. Matteotti, trained through a theatrical workshop held by Stefano Filippi, director, actor and teacher. The event was a success and gained the attention of national and international specialized media. The website has been dismissed, but it’s visible here.
